Mommy Sick Day, Cute Clinger Baby, Baby Mama Drama and the Head Butt

So, its Week Five of being sick with bronchitis (and a stomach flu in between) and trying to still be a mommy and alternating weekend step mom as well as a working mommy. The doctors have finally put me on a Z-pack and I am on Day Four of being off work and trying to recuperate. Between all of this an the newly diagnosed severe sleep apnea, lets just say that its a surprise that I haven't gone batty!

Of course, its like my baby girl knows I'm sick....she is right by my side, wanting to do everything I do and not taking no for an answer.  All the while smiling at me with her big smile.  She is my own little clinger and its pretty adorable, minus the hair pulling. Its been such a nice week with her which is a welcome break from the terror of this weekend.

We had her half sister this weekend.  Usually she has a hard time transitioning from her mom's house to ours.  Her mom is breaking the court order right and left, telling a 3 year old horrible lies about her father, teaching her to disrespect us regularly.  This was the first weekend we have had her since we started overnights almost a year ago where things were this bad.  We could tell that she is starting to pick up a lot of her mom's traits ('okay, okay, okay' in an exasperated tone, the attitude of a 15 year old girl) which is frustrating.  Other than the bump in the road (and to my face, also a new one) of this weekend, she is such a good little girl.  I feel bad because I know that she is learning bad habits at home, but we also can't just let her be disrespectful and hit anyone, much less adults.  Luckily, we only had to do time out once this weekend, despite all this.   We had tons of fun!

I love my little extended family. Even with all the bumps. The Baby Mama drama has been pretty heavy this week. She has pretty much gone off the deep end. She is refusing, yet again, to do the court ordered mediation, citing some new lame excuse that make no sense. She is still making accusations that make no sense but when she makes the list of reason for being unreasonable she also cites money as the first reason (she get $342 in child support but is always saying its not enough or saying he doesn't pay even though its set to garnish from his check) before laying her other claims down. I mean, seriously, if you thought your child was being abused in our home I feel like that would be the first reason you give, not complaining about money first. Oh, and she is also having, yet another pregnancy scare. This is the 3rd one since December and each on has been with a different person. The latest was with a guy she was with for a month, maybe a little over, who she introduced to her daughter to after just a couple weeks.

I can't wait until my Step Baby is old enough to make decision for herself. I just hope that when that time comes that Baby Mama has started to medicate so that she can be the mother that this little girl deserves. Ever little girl deserves a good mom and good dad. Right now she has a good dad, a good female role model, and an awesome sister that she only sees every other weekend and a mom who is using her a weapon against her father all 290+ days other then that. A child is not a weapon....here's hoping her mommy grows up some time soon....
